Any Indian citizen above 18 years of age with valid identity and address proof can apply for an LPG connection. The applicant should not already have an active LPG connection in their name.
Is Aadhaar mandatory for a new LPG connection?
While Aadhaar is the most commonly accepted proof, it is not mandatory. Other valid ID/address proofs can also be submitted.
How do I apply for a new LPG connection?
- You can apply: Online via the official website of: Bharat Gas
- Offline by visiting the nearest LPG distributor office with required documents.
Can I transfer an LPG connection from one city or state to another?
Yes. You can transfer your LPG connection using a Transfer Advice (TV) or by initiating the transfer online via your provider’s website or mobile app.
What documents are required to apply for a new LPG connection?
You typically need the following documents:
Proof of Identity (POI): Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License
Proof of Address (POA): Ration Card, Utility Bill, Aadhaar card, Rent agreement, Passport, etc.

Can I use my own LPG stove or do I have to buy one from the distributor?
Yes, you can use your own ISI-marked LPG stove. You do not have to buy a new one from the distributor.
Can I take more than one LPG connection in my name?
No. As per the “One Household, One Connection” rule, only one LPG connection per household is allowed.
